Tobacco Control Program
The Tobacco Control Program utilizes a comprehensive approach to complement and support Guam's Tobacco Control Act of 1998, as well as federal guidelines for the SYNAR Amendment. Key activities include technical assistance in the development of tobacco control-related policy and legislation, strategic education and communications campaigns, collaboration and training of key community leaders and volunteers on the harmful effects of tobacco use, second hand smoke and nicotine addiction, yearly Synar inspections to monitor compliance to the "No Sale of Tobacco Products to Minors" law, and provision of cessation services to the Guam community.
